Encountering Your Need IN She Who Cherishes Our Hot Mess

Nobody likes a mess. And we are often most disgusted by the messes that can be traced back to us. In this session, Christena will share new stories, research and insights on how whitemalegod has tricked us all into despising our own humanity.

In this session you will:

  • Discover how Our Lady of the Sick, the Black Madonna of Vichy, welcomes our need and sees it as our sacred offering to Her

  • Look inward to examine your needs, especially those that you’re afraid to share.

  • Engage in a powerful practice of matriarchal (need-based) connection with your fellow pilgrims

  • Discover what you and your fellow pilgrims can teach each other about co-creating communities centered on meeting people’s needs

  • Add an element to your home altar that symbolizes your human need

Please note that breakout rooms are not recorded. We encourage you to use the free time to journal, engage in movement, call a few friends and ask them to do the practice(s) with you, or whatever else that feels supportive to you! 🌿

ADDITIONAL RESOURCES

A special note from Christena: Beloved pilgrims, you do not need to “prepare” for each pilgrimage stop. Please come as you are. The Black Madonna doesn't need you to "study" and "practice" incessantly in order to be on this journey. However, we are offering additional resources as a way to support and nourish you on this journey and as a point of connection between you and your fellow pilgrims.
