Encountering Your North Star in the God of Harriet

“I have a dream” is a powerful statement. But sometimes we are trapped by our limited imaginations and it is difficult to even dream of a better way. In this session, Christena will facilitate a modern-day ‘hush harbor’ and call in the wisdom of the womanists, our ancestors (such as Harriet Tubman) and the Black Madonna of Moulins as we engage in practices that stimulate our spiritual imaginations and teach us that our quest for healing and liberation is true.

In this session you will:

  • Recognize how your relationship with the Black Madonna can transform and empower your identity and purpose

  • Team up with your fellow pilgrims to give words and movement to your liberation dreams

  • Reflect on your life and identify a North Star, a symbol of Abundance that you can place on your altar and return to when you are afraid to follow your liberation dreams

Please note that breakout rooms are not recorded, so there was about 20 minutes of silence/background music towards the end of the recording. We encourage you to use that time to journal, engage in movement, or whatever else that feels supportive to you! 🌿

ADDITIONAL RESOURCES

A special note from Christena: Beloved pilgrims, you do not need to “prepare” for each pilgrimage stop. Please come as you are. The Black Madonna doesn't need you to "study" and "practice" incessantly in order to be on this journey. However, we are offering additional resources as a way to support and nourish you on this journey and as a point of connection between you and your fellow pilgrims.
